Loot Tables
Loot tables in Wanderfolk dungeons determine the equipment, materials, and consumables found in chests, boss drops, and resource nodes. Dungeon loot follows a 4-tier rarity system (common to epic) and scales with biome danger level, making dungeons the best source of high-tier gear in the game.
Loot Rarity Tiers
All dungeon loot follows a 4-tier rarity system:
| Tier | Color | Drop Rate | Examples |
|---|---|---|---|
| Common | White | 60–80% | Bones, basic hides, common herbs |
| Uncommon | Green | 20–50% | Claws, fangs, quality materials |
| Rare | Blue | 5–15% | Shadow cores, frost cores, spirit shards |
| Epic | Purple | 1–5% | Soul gems, cursed amulets, wraith cloaks |
Inside dungeons, drop rates are slightly improved compared to overworld monsters, and the higher-tier monsters drop correspondingly better loot.
Monster Drops
Dungeon monsters drop the same loot as their overworld counterparts, but with boosted rates. Key drops by monster type:
| Monster | Common Drop | Rare Drop | Epic Drop |
|---|---|---|---|
| Skeleton | Bone (80%) | Ancient Coin (20%) | Skeleton Key (5%) |
| Ghoul | Rotted Flesh (70%) | Ghoul Claw (30%) | Cursed Amulet (2%) |
| Shadow Wolf | Shadow Fur (60%) | Wolf Fang (40%) | Shadow Core (8%) |
| Wraith | Ectoplasm (50%) | Spirit Shard (25%) | Soul Gem (1%) |
| Polar Bear | Thick Fur (80%) | Bear Claw (50%) | Frost Core (8%) |
| Frost Fang | Frost Fang (78%) | — | Frost Core (12%) |
| Ember Drakelet | Ember Scale (75%) | — | Dark Essence (10%) |
| Cliff Raptor | Raptor Quill (80%) | — | Spirit Shard (10%) |
Skeleton Keys are particularly valuable — they unlock locked chests in treasure rooms. Farm skeletons early in the dungeon for keys before reaching treasure rooms.
Treasure Room Chests
Treasure rooms contain 1–3 chests. Each chest generates loot based on the dungeon’s biome difficulty:
Low-Danger Dungeons (Meadow, Farmland, Coast, River Delta)
| Slot | Possible Contents |
|---|---|
| Weapon | Iron-tier swords, axes, tools |
| Armor | Leather armor, basic shields |
| Material | Iron ingots, steel ingots, rare herbs |
| Consumable | Health potions, energy potions, antidotes |
Mid-Danger Dungeons (Forest, Swamp, Desert, Crystal Caves)
| Slot | Possible Contents |
|---|---|
| Weapon | Steel-tier weapons |
| Armor | Steel armor, good shields |
| Material | Obsidian ore, rare crafting materials |
| Consumable | Quality potions, blessing charms |
High-Danger Dungeons (Mountains, Tundra, Ancient Ruins, Dark Hollow, Volcanic)
| Slot | Possible Contents |
|---|---|
| Weapon | Obsidian to mithril-tier weapons |
| Armor | Obsidian armor, rare cloaks |
| Material | Mithril ore, epic crafting materials |
| Consumable | Excellent potions, holy water |
Locked Chests
Some chests are locked and require a Skeleton Key to open. Locked chests contain higher-tier loot — typically one tier above what the dungeon normally drops. A locked chest in a mid-danger dungeon might contain obsidian-tier equipment.
Boss Drops
Defeating a dungeon boss guarantees high-quality loot:
- 1 equipment piece matching the dungeon’s danger tier (minimum steel, up to mithril)
- 2–3 rare materials used in high-tier crafting
- 1 consumable (potion or charm)
- Gold scaled to dungeon difficulty
The boss’s equipment drop is the single best source of high-tier gear in the game. A Dark Hollow boss can drop mithril weapons that would take hours of mining and crafting to produce otherwise.
Resource Room Yields
Resource rooms contain harvestable nodes that follow the biome’s natural resources but with upgraded quality:
| Biome Type | Plants | Ores |
|---|---|---|
| Plant-rich (Grove, Delta, Swamp) | 3 rare herbs | 1 common ore |
| Ore-rich (Mountains, Crystal, Volcanic) | 1 common plant | 2–3 rare ores |
| Balanced (Forest, Coast, Desert) | 2 plants | 1–2 ores |
Resource room ores often include materials one tier above what the biome normally spawns. A mountain resource room may contain mithril nodes instead of the usual iron and obsidian.
Farming Strategy
For efficient loot farming:
- Target the right dungeon — match the dungeon to what you need (Crystal Caves for ore, Enchanted Grove for herbs)
- Bring Skeleton Keys — farm skeletons at night before entering, or clear skeleton encounters early in the dungeon
- Clear every room — resource and treasure rooms are worth the detour
- Prioritize the boss — boss drops are the highest-value loot in the game
- Repeat dungeons — each run generates a new layout with fresh loot
