Unlocking Recipes
Not all recipes are available from the start. Recipes unlock through several methods:
- Reputation milestones — reach a certain reputation with NPCs of a specific role. For example, forge recipes unlock at higher reputation with blacksmiths.
- Skill progression — crafting more items of a type gradually unlocks advanced recipes in that category.
- Item discovery — finding certain rare materials or recipes in dungeon treasure rooms teaches you new crafts.
Any NPC of the matching role can unlock a recipe — you don’t need to find a specific named NPC. Any blacksmith in any village counts for forge recipe unlocks.
Recipe Quality
Every recipe you craft goes through a minigame. Your performance determines the quality of the output — poor, normal, good, or excellent. Higher quality means better stats, longer durability, and higher resale value when trading with merchants.
