Night used to mean scattered monsters wandering into your path. Now it means something worse: organized raids.
Banshees and sirens lead coordinated undead assaults on villages after dark. These aren’t random spawns — they approach in formation, with purpose. Attack one member of a raid group and shared aggro kicks in: every nearby ally turns toward you simultaneously. What starts as a manageable skirmish can become an overwhelm in seconds if you’re not careful about positioning.
Healer monsters embedded in raid groups keep their allies alive through prolonged fights. You’ll need to identify and eliminate the healer early, or watch enemies you’ve already injured patch themselves back up. Formation keeping means the group approaches as a unit rather than scattering — they funnel through chokepoints and cover each other.
The bandit overhaul extends this tactical depth beyond undead. Bandit groups now field dedicated archers, healers, and fighters, each taking their preferred position in an engagement. Archers hang back and punish you for standing still. Healers stay behind the fighters. The composition varies by group, so scouting before you charge matters.
Finally, the village safe zone buffer has been restored to its proper size. Monsters no longer spawn directly at village edges — you’ll have room to breathe before the raids begin each night.
Sleep with one eye open.
