Historical note: Wanderfolk's public release path is now Steam-first. Older update posts may refer to the browser build or earlier desktop plans as they existed when originally published.

The creatures out there are no longer just window dressing — they have agendas now.

Wolves chase prey until they’re exhausted, then break off and rest before hunting again. Watch a wolf pursue a rabbit across a field and you’ll see the whole arc play out: the burst of speed, the flagging stamina, the retreat. The wilderness has its own rhythms now, and you’re just moving through them.

Territorial creatures actively defend their turf. Cross into a bear’s range while a rival species is nearby and you may witness an aggressive standoff — or get caught in the middle of one. Give predators space, or use the tension to your advantage.

Pack animals coordinate. Wolves flank. They don’t just rush you from one direction — they spread out, cut off angles, and pressure you to commit. Lone wanderers in the wild at night will want to pay attention.

On the quality-of-life side: auto-save now triggers every 5 minutes in live mode. Unexpected crashes or browser closes won’t cost you a session’s worth of progress.
